The Gospel is Simple

Anyone familiar with "Preach My Gospel" printed by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints will recognize the three terms that relate to lesson plans in Chapter 3 of that book.  There are a lot of different aspects of the Gospel and always new things to learn, but it all relates, and is very organized, simple and logical (as logical as faith is to those who have a hard time believing in a Deity they cannot see).

The Plan of Salvation goes through and tells us WHY the Gospel of Jesus Christ is important.  The Restoration tells us HOW we know about it.  The Gospel itself is WHAT WE DO: Faith, Repentance, Baptism, Confirmation, and Enduring to the End.  All the Commandments help us Endure to the End and know what to repent of.  I may end up blogging about other principles but I will try to show how it relates to these things.  And I will start with WHY it is important.

I used to think that those who delved into deep doctrine were the knowledgeable ones.  They may be.  But there is plenty to be found in the Scriptures alone.  As far as The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is concerned those include: The Bible (both Old and New Testaments), The Book of Mormon, Doctrine & Covenants, and The Pearl of Great Price.  We also believe in modern revelation, so I may include quotes from what we consider modern day revelation as well.  As we return to the basics- the Scriptures, no matter how many times we've read them, we can learn new things if we look for new insights.
