There are many examples of women in the scriptures. There's a whole blog devoted to them of which I am a fan. On my mission I decided to read through all the standard works and pay attention to the women mentioned, there were over 100 listed by name and more that were referenced. What I noticed after my study of the scriptures was that women have power. Not necessarily better than men, but a woman's influence can be felt by many and it actually MEANS something. When the woman mentioned was righteous, those with whom she was associated with (if a queen, a whole nation, or just her individual family) were also righteous, and when she was wicked, wickedness abounded. Although some women who were wicked are worth writing on to emphasize women's power for influence, and our duty to be righteous I will focus more on the women who stand out to me who were righteous.
